When this error is displayed, it indicates (as stated in the error) that the program is not currently activated, or the evaluation period has expired. If this is displayed on an installation that was previously activated and working, it may indicate that the license file has been deleted or modified.
Whatever the cause of the message, the fix is to activate the program.
To activate WS_FTP Pro:
For Windows 8 activation, use instructions provided in the WS_FTP Knowledge Base: How to Activate on Windows 8
Click Start > Programs > Ipswitch WS_FTP 12 > Manage WS_FTP 12 License (right click, Run as Administrator on Windows 7 or 2008)
- Enter your client Serial number and click Activate
- Enter your Username and Password and click Activate.
